Health
Health
Primary healthcare is a fundamental right and we have made efforts to improve access in remote areas, while investing in preventive measures.
We organise regular preventative healthcare camps in villages and local community centres surrounding our factories. We drilled borewells in villages without access to clean water; and we have installed reverse osmosis water filtration plants - which keeps drinking water clean and prevents water borne diseases - in 20 villages surrounding our factories in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. These plants serve over 100,000 people.
We Have Health Centres
We have built full-fledged village health centres in three villages, one each in Andhra Pradesh (Bhatlapenumarru), Odisha (Kharagprasad) and Telangana (Paloncha).
We also employ roving medical teams that offer regular health check-ups in nearby areas. Tens of thousands of people are regularly screened as part of these initiatives and an equal number are treated at our health centres.

OUR
Eye Care Centres
In 2011, we opened an eye care clinic equipped with modern diagnostic facilities in Paloncha in association with the LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. This centre has treated more than 200,000 patients so far - and over 22,000 surgeries have been performed here.
We also provided financial assistance to Bhubaneswar Eye Institute, set up in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, by the LV Prasad Eye Institute.
Maamba
General HospitalIn Zambia, we support the Maamba General Hospital by providing equipment, apparatus and medicines. We have also collaborated with Zambia’s health ministry to set up an eye clinic at the hospital. Maamba Development Trust also conducts periodic medical outreach programmes for those living in remote parts of Sinazongwe district.
We have established an Ophthalmic Centre at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia, in association with Operation Eyesight Universal.
