Livelihood
The demand for skilled manpower in India exceeds supply. And yet, the unemployment rate is high. We invest in skills training to bridge this gap.
More than 900 people have graduated from our vocational training programme, and over 700 graduates have found jobs. The institute recently also began offering courses in computer programs such as DTP and Tally. Over 500 women have graduated from these two courses.
The Nava Bharat Vocational Institute in Paloncha offers vocational training for welders, fitters, electricians, plumbers and mechanics who can work on two-wheelers, refrigerators and air-conditioners.
Women’s Empowerment Centre
In 2013, we established a Women’s Empowerment Centre in Paloncha, Telangana. It offers several practical training courses, including manufacture of jute products, garment making, tailoring, embroidery and beautician courses. Over 900 women have graduated from these courses.

In Zambia, Maamba Development Trust has established a vocational training centre that offers skills training courses in metal fabrication, welding and electrical work for men and women to provide new sources of employment.
We encourage sports among local youth by sponsoring the Maamba Energy Stars Football Club, a national level team in Zambia, and also sponsor several tournaments at the school, district and province level. We have also built sports facilities, including the racquet club, which has tennis, badminton and squash courts, and a 9-hole golf course.
